Travel & Stay

The wedding will take place in Båstad and Torekov, located on Sweden’s southwest coast. The nearest international airport is Copenhagen (CPH), approximately 1.5 hours by car or 2 hours by direct train to Båstad. Both options are convenient, though local public transportation is limited.

There are several accommodation options in and around Båstad and Torekov. We have reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate at Hotel Riviera Strand, available until the end of May.

Rooms are 2,400 SEK per night (standard room). Reservations can be made via email or phone – please provide your mobile number and the reservation number 451951 when booking (email: bokning@rivierastrand.se, phone: +46 431 558213).

There are also plenty of additional hotels, guesthouses, and Airbnb options in the area if you prefer alternative accommodation.

Other details & FAQ

What’s the dress code for the weekend?
We kindly ask you to wear Black tie on Saturday. For the other events, we suggest casual chic or cocktail attire with a relaxed feel. Please note that the welcome cocktail on Friday will take place on grass, so stilettos may be difficult to walk in.
Are kids invited?
We love your little ones and they are very welcome to join us for the church ceremony, but kindly ask that the reception and dinner be an adults-only occasion.
How to get around during the weekend?
Public transportation in Båstad & Torekov is limited, but taxis are available (e.g., Båstad Taxi). We recommend booking in advance. Transportation will be provided on the Saturday from the church to the reception, as well as late-night taxis back to the hotels for those who wish. We recommend taking a taxi to the church, but parking is available at the venue for those who prefer to drive.
Will we be indoors or outdoors?
Most events will take place indoors or under a tent. September in Båstad is usually mild and pleasant, with temperatures around 12-17°C, but as always in Sweden, the weather can be unpredictable. A light sweater or jacket - and an umbrella, just in case - is always a good idea.
Can I give a toast, hold a speech, or give a performance?
If you’re planning to give a speech or prepare something special, we kindly ask that you reach out directly to our wonderful wedding planner, Johanna, at johanna@yojexperience.se by August 10th latest. She will be coordinating the flow of the evening and will be happy to assist with any details.
What about gifts?
Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for. For those who wish to give something further, we would truly appreciate a contribution toward our honeymoon. Details can be found below.

Our Guide to Båstad & Torekov

Collage of seven photos showing a smiling couple in various outdoor and indoor settings, including hugging, sitting by a table, walking in a park, sharing a kiss, taking a selfie in the forest, relaxing on a boat with a city skyline, and sitting on grass by a red house.

For those visiting for the first time, we’ve gathered a few of our favourite spots to eat, explore, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings

Saturday Lunch

If you’re looking for a relaxed lunch before the ceremony, we recommend Torekov Golf Club or Båstad Golf Club, as well as Restaurang Sand and Fiskhuset in Båstad. Thora’s Vineyard is another lovely option - and a great opportunity to taste some local wines.

Activities

We highly recommend a visit to the lovely Hovs Hallar nature reserve where cliffs drop into the sea with beautiful views of the ocean. Another beautiful walk is Sinarpsdalen, a valley carved into the Hallandsåsen ridge. The trail winds through a hilly landscape, with parts following the old Bjäre railway embankment.

If you’re staying in Torekov and would like to swim like the locals, head to Morgonbryggan for a refreshing dip (feel free to wear your bathrobe to fully fit in).

Tennis is available at both Torekov Hotell and in Båstad. For bookings and availability, we suggest using the Matchi app. If you’re an avid golfer, we also highly recommend playing a round at Båstad Golf Club’s Old Course.
